Manufacture: Mountain Goat Brewery
Type of Beer: Ale
Brewed in: Victoria
Country: Australia
Website: Website

Awards: Rated in Top 20 Australian Beers - The Australian Newspaper Nov 09
Description: The Steam is a crisp, certified organic ale. We incorporate some wheat malt in the grist make up and ferment it cool. We use Hallertau adn Citra hops along with a light dose of Galaxy flowers at the end. This is a conservatively hopped beer that comes in at about 28 IBU’s. Great as the weather warms up. 4.5% ABV.

“Bright and refreshing…its aromatic citric fizzle is a pointer to American hop Citra which hums high above the beer’s Pilsner and wheat malts. An organic triumph.” Herald Sun.

“…has an appealing and subtle roll from a grassy first taste to a soft finish, with a hint of fresh bread thrown in.” Daily Telegraph

“…delivers a smooth and crisp finish with a zing of spritziness. It pours pale gold and imparts a tinned peach aroma. Any sweetness is well balanced with Hallertau and Galaxy hops, creating an authentic version of the Steam Ale style.” Beer and Brewer Magazine

This has to be one of my favorite beers. It was one of the first beers of this type that i'd tasted and i found it had citrus kind of kick that i really dug. It's crisp without being dry and sometimes has a slightly sour aftertaste. A very interesting beer all round.
